In Florence, opens to the public a new museum, unknown to the most, but rich in masterpieces such as the Adoration of the Child by Piero di Cosimo, the two wedding panels of Beccafumi, the magnificent paintings of Salvator Rosa and Luca Giordano. The palace, which belonged for centuries to the noble and ancient lineage, later went to the Curia of Florence, to which Francesca Martelli had left in the year of her death in 1986. Then became property of the Italian State. The museum will be open to the public initially on Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning, by appointment only, with guided tours.

At the Medici’s Museum in Florence, will be presented the exhibition organized in collaboration with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux of France, dedicated to Henry IV of Navarre, Maria de' Medici’s husband. On show 19 canvases that Cosimo II de' Medici commissioned to Florentine academic painters to celebrate the funeral rites of Henry IV on 16 September 1610 at the Basilica of San Lorenzo, besides books, engravings and preparatory drawings, the Medici’s family tree, the marriage documents with King Henry and portraits of the Queen Mary, in painting and sculpture.

At the Museo degli Argenti of Palazzo Pitti, a unique exhibition will tell through original findings, sculptures, frescoes and mosaics, multimedia devices and video, the evolution of wine and winegrowing culture, from Phoenician, to Etruscan and Romans. The precious findings on show in the exhibition, will also show religious and cultural values of the vine, through a wide series of depictions of divinities, rituals and wine festivals.

The Museo Nazionale del Bargello in Florence will host the large bronze groupby Giovanbattista Rustici, representing the "The sermon of St. John the Baptist” that, after the restoration and subsequent exposure in Atlanta come back in Florence. This is the first exhibition dedicated to the young sculptor, born in 1475 in Florence, trained in the famous Garden of San Marco and pupil of Leonardo da Vinci who contributed to the creation of the work. In the exhibition will also present a series of works almost complete of Rustici (glasses, marbles, terracotta works, paintings and other works of medium and small size) that witness his great technical versatility and the characteristics of his style.
